My name is Tomasz, but I usually go by Tom. I am a contractor and freelancer from Poznan, Poland. I develop web applications (both backend and frontend) and mobile applications for iOS and Android (cross-platform).

After graduating from the finance and banking program, I have a technical background and corporate banking experience. I have become a successful problem-solving professional with programming/process automation and decided to steer my career towards software engineering.

Currently, I am leveraging my skills as a software engineer at mBank, the largest bank in Poland. My role involves using programming languages like C# and JavaScript/TypeScript, as well as working with UI frameworks like MUI and React with Redux. Additionally, I dedicate my part-time to freelance mobile development for iOS and Android using React Native for other companies.

Interests

Apart from programming, I am also involved in various other activities, including cycling, guitar playing, soccer, electronics, and photography.

Cycling

Currently, I ride an MTB from Giant, "Two Disc" model, size M, it is a hardtail with 27.5" wheels. I usually prefer trips of 20 km to 100 km. However, I once did a 186 km route. You can read more on the dedicated page: bicycle.

Guitar playing

Currently, I own eight electric guitars and one electro-acoustic guitar. I have six different versions of the Mayones Flame Bell II Stratocaster and one Fender Yngwie Malmsteen signature Stratocaster. Plus, I own Brian May's signature Red Special guitar. You can read more on the dedicated page: guitar.

Guitar playing

Me and one of my Flame Stratocaster (Polish copy of Fender Stratocaster). Unlike typical Fender Stratocaster, it has scale length of 24.5" instead of 25.5".

Soccer

I play soccer regularly. We have an amateur team of 16 people, and we usually play every Wednesday. You can read more on the dedicated page: soccer.

Soccer

During my time at the DFDS, me and my team played at the BSA 2017 tournament. We did not win, but it was fun.

Electronics

I mostly do audio electronics and very rarely digital electronics. In my small workshop, I use all the necessary tools, including an oscilloscope, a generator, multimeters, a soldering station (including a Hot Air station), and a desoldering station. Among others, I built my own guitar amplifier. You can read more on the dedicated page: electronics.

Electronics

Building Treble Booster (it gains mid- and high-frequencies and roll-offs low-end) for my guitar amplifier. This is simplified build with a universal PCB.

Photography

I take pictures from time to time, usually some landscapes, air shows, architecture (urban exploration), and portraits. I'm a long time Nikon user. I started with the Nikon D5100, D600 and D850 today. You can read more on the dedicated page: photography.
